2. Take Photos of Your Items

Photos are not required at this point, however, please feel free to send them to help us evaluate your items. Upload a few clear photos and share basic details about what you’re selling. This helps our experts evaluate your items quickly and give you a stronger estimate.

3. Submit Your Request

Once submitted, your information is securely sent to our team for review. A local store expert will evaluate your items and reach out to you with next steps.

4. Get Your Offer & Get Paid

We’ll contact you with your quote and walk you through your selling options. Accept the offer and bring your items into the store to get paid fast — in cash, Venmo, PayPal, or eCheck.

Taking Photos of Your Items

High-quality photos build trust and reduce returns. Buyers rely on images to evaluate condition, scale, and authenticity.

Best Practices

• Image should be clear — use good lighting and steady hands or a tripod.
• Face and items should be visible — if the item is wearable (clothes, accessories), include a clear photo showing it being worn or modeled so buyers can assess fit and appearance.
• No blur image — avoid motion blur; use faster shutter or burst mode on phones.
• Max five can be uploaded — choose up to five images that together show the item from all important angles.
• Use a plain, uncluttered background so the item stands out.
• Show multiple angles: front, back, sides, close-ups of defects/labels.
• Include a scale reference (coin, ruler) or a common object to convey size.

Please Avoid

• Using dark, grainy, or pixelated photos.
• Cropping out important details like logos, tags, or defects.
• Using heavy filters that change the item's color drastically.
• Including messy backgrounds or irrelevant objects.
• Uploading more than five images — extra photos tend to repeat and overwhelm; pick the best ones

Inspection & Final Valuation

Once received, your item will be:

• Carefully tested and evaluated
• A final offer is sent by email or text (text preferred for speed) Pawn America aims to communicate valuation within about an hour of receiving your item.

Payment

After you accept the final valuation:
You receive your payment via PayPal, Venmo, eCheck or ACH.
If the final offer is less than expected or you change your mind:

• You can reject the offer.
• You will be charged for the return shipping. 

Gold Items & Legal Requirements

If your item contains gold, your email will also include a “Gold Standard” form as required by Minnesota state law.

Important Reminders

We cover standard shipping. Any expedited shipping at your cost. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended to protect your item.
