Features
The Ultimate 80s Survival Knife: The Buckmaster 184 is a legendary piece of cutlery history. Designed in the 1980s with input from Navy SEALs, it was built to be an indestructible survival tool and quickly became a pop-culture icon of the era.
1986 Production & Pat. Pend.: The < symbol stamped after "184" is the official Buck date code for 1986. Furthermore, the presence of the "PAT. PEND." (Patent Pending) stamp is a major selling point for collectors, as it indicates an early production run before the final patent was officially granted and the stamp was changed.
Anchor Pins / Grappling Hooks: A defining feature of the Buckmaster is the two removable threaded spikes on the crossguard. These were originally designed so the knife could be tied to a rope and used as an emergency grappling hook or anchor. Finding a used Buckmaster that still has both original pins is highly desirable.
