Features
A 500 series module within the Storm Series lineup featuring the DI section of the Dark Storm preamp and a Re-Amping capability. Controls include a Lo Cut switch on the DI signal path and a knob for the re-amped signal volume. An adjustable LED peak meter indicates signal levels, activating when output exceeds that of electric guitar or bass pickups. The device includes 1/4-inch input and output jacks for simultaneous use, allowing Hi-Z guitar pedals to integrate into a Lo-Z studio signal path. Operation requires a mic preamp, and pairing with the Super Storm 500 series preamp provides the Dark Storm DI signal path. Internally, the unit employs a fully discrete JFET signal path feeding a pair of Lightning Boy Audio transformers. The resulting sound offers a subtle edge and noticeable warmth with headroom comparable to vacuum tube circuits.
