A 2017 platform game for the Nintendo Switch in which Mario teams up with Cappy, a sentient hat, to travel across 14 kingdoms and stop Bowser from forcing Princess Peach into marriage. Players collect Power Moons to fuel their ship, the Odyssey, unlocking new kingdoms and progressing through exploration-focused levels reminiscent of Super Mario 64. Mario retains classic moves like triple jumps and wall jumps, while Cappy adds new abilities such as attacking, platforming, and “capturing” enemies or objects to use their powers. Levels include both 3D exploration and occasional 2D side-scrolling sections, with collectibles including coins and costumes, some tied to specific objectives. The game supports motion controls and two-player co-op, with one player controlling Cappy.
